I have recently joined the GMTH team as a clinical educator. I came into primary care and general practice in 2003 following completion of the Community Specialist Practitioner- Practice Nurse program. From here I completed the BSc Nurse Practitioner program and Non-Medical prescribing in 2007.Along the way I have done several education modules related to different areas of chronic disease management. I am currently in the final year of my MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice. Alongside my clinical role I have been a nurse partner in practice, giving me practice management experience and involvement of developing a practice. Unfortunately, it has only been the past few years that we started to take student nurses. Due to the time since I last had a student nurse, I re did the Multi-Professional support of learning and assessing in practice in 2017. While involved with training and developing nurses within practice, I wanted to ensure I was up to date when we started taking students. As Primary care and general practice continues to evolve and develop its exciting to be involved in showing students the possibilities and career prospects, alongside the new roles coming into practice and new learning opportunities.
