Ricky Staniland

Academically, I started my journey by carrying out an integrated MSc in Chemistry at the University of York before moving to the North West to carry out a postgraduate degree in Education which involved teaching chemistry at a number of different schools and colleges. I first joined the NHS as a trainee Physician Associate back in 2016 on the North West Pilot Programme with the University of Manchester. I joined General Practice upon qualifying as a Physician Associate in 2019 and have since been involved in a number of educational projects alongside the day-day clinical role of seeing undifferentiated clinics. I then carried out a secondment with Health Education England as a Physician Associate ambassador where I developed my knowledge and skills in project management, leadership and medical education further. I am passionate about medical education; workforce development and ultimately support of each individual of our workforce in an ever-evolving primary care model.
