Overview
If you are an experienced GP looking to pass on your experience and knowledge then consider becoming a Mentor supporting newly qualified GPs on our 2 year GP Fellowship programme. The Fellowship program is aimed at welcoming GPs into general practice and their primary care network and gives Fellows 1 hour per month mentorship (which is where you come in) the opportunity for learning and development via podcasts and masterclasses, additional coaching, and portfolio development opportunities all designed to support their transition from a GPST to a GP.
We’re looking for GPs who are working a minimum of 3 clinical sessions a week and can do an additional 1 session a week of mentorship to become Mentors. In return you will be reimbursed £289.00 per session, connected with a peer mentor group, plus be provided with a fully funded, international recognised, ILM Level 5 Coaching & Mentoring qualification from Salford University.
The ILM qualification includes 5 days of ILM accredited Coaching & Mentoring training over the first year and the rest of the work towards the qualification will be undertaken during your mentorship sessions. The additional skills you gain through the course should also have a positive benefit in terms of your ability to manage your practice team, and also deal with your patients using proven mentoring models.
