GP Mentor Scheme

For experienced GPs looking to pass on their experience and knowledge, supporting newly qualified GPs within the practice and primary care network.

Mentoring is a process where someone with more experience supports another’s development outside of their normal line management relationship.

  • Hold a substantive role in Greater Manchester
  • Have recently qualified
  • Have recently joined Primary Care from another discipline
  • Have recently changed roles within primary care
  • Up to 4 paid sessions a month to mentor newly qualified GPs
  • undertaking our NHSE GP Fellowship
  • £289.00 per session
  • Potentially mentor other GPs and other members of primary care
  • Flexible to fit in with your schedule
  • Fully funded training provided

Training includes:

2 day bespoke training course

  • Delivered in person
  • No assignments

3 day training course

  • Delivered virtual
  • 4 assignments
  • ILM L3 Qualification

Once you have completed your training, you will support newly-qualified GPs who are on our GP Fellowship programme. You will support their transition from a GPST to a GP by providing one hour of mentorship to them for the 2 year duration of the Fellowship.
