Step into Primary Care and Prince’s Trust Pre-Employment Programmes
Greater Manchester Training Hub (GMTH) are recruiting practices and candidates to take part in our Step into Primary Care and Prince’s Trust Pre-Employment Programmes.
Both programmes provide placement opportunities within primary care for ‘ready to work’ candidates that have completed accredited pre-employment training programmes. There is an opportunity for the candidate to interview for a non-clinical role within the practice, following the placement.
The main objectives are to contribute to the future sustainability of the wider primary care workforce, develop a stream of local talent into non-clinical roles across GM primary care and to provide an effective platform for current the primary care workforce to inspire and mentor the next generation of primary care workers.
Course overview
- 6-week programme; consisting of 3 weeks of accredited training and a 3-week primary care placement.
- Training programme including Level 2 customer service accreditation, GDPR/confidentiality, conflict resolution, NHS mandatory and EMIS training.
- Primary care work placement in a non-clinical role.
- Guaranteed interview for a role at the practice. However, there is no obligation for the practice to hire the candidate.

Entry requirements
For both pre-employment programmes:
- 19+
- Unemployed and not in full time education.
- Must have right to work within the UK.
- Must be based in Greater Manchester.
- Must be able to complete the full pre-employment programme (~ 6 weeks).
- Enhanced DBS essential.
Prince’s Trust Pre-Employment Programme ONLY:
- 18 – 30 years Old
- Unemployed and not in full time education.
- Must have right to work within the UK.
- Must be based in Greater Manchester.
- Must be able to complete the full pre-employment programme (~ 6 weeks).
- Enhanced DBS essential.
